In the wake of the floods, the Government of Pakistan requested the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank (WB) to lead the Damage and Needs Assessment (DNA). The DNA estimates that approximately $8.7 – 10.9 billion is required for the overall recovery and reconstruction cost associated with the floods. The Pakistan government has told international aid agencies to end relief efforts by Jan 31 even though recovery, reconstruction and rehabilitation is years away. All concerned persons have been told that their visas will not be extended after December 30.
